Why an integrated management system?
Quality and environmental management together refer to the integrated consideration and management of processes and measures that affect both the quality of products and services and the ecological impact of a company. The aim is to organize both areas in such a way that both high quality standards and sustainable, environmentally conscious corporate management are guaranteed.
An integrated quality and environmental management system (QUMS or IMS) has two main objectives:
- Quality management (QM): Ensuring that products and services meet the specified quality requirements. It includes the continuous improvement of processes, the prevention of errors and the fulfillment of customer expectations.
- Environmental management (EM): focuses on protecting the environment, reducing environmental pollution and the efficient use of resources. This involves compliance with environmental laws, minimizing waste, emissions and the sustainable use of materials.
